Healing Through Movement
An 8-Week Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) Series
This isn’t about being good at yoga.
You don’t need to be flexible. You don’t need yoga experience. And you don’t need to know the “right” way to move.
Healing Through Movement is an 8-week virtual Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) series focused on noticing, choice, and reconnecting with your body in a way that feels accessible to you.
Rather than asking, “Am I doing this right?” TCTSY offers opportunities to notice what you feel, explore what you want, and practice making choices based on what you notice.
Tuesdays beginning October 6, 2026
12pm Mountain Time | Virtual | 8 weeks
$360 | Payment plan available: 6 weekly payments of $60
Sometimes your brain knows you’re safe…but your body hasn’t gotten the memo.
You can understand your patterns. You can know why you respond the way you do. You can have coping skills, insight, and years of work under your belt, and still notice your body reacting before you have a chance to think about it.
TCTSY creates a space to practice something different.
Through accessible movement and present-moment noticing, you’ll be invited to explore sensations, make choices about your movement, and practice connecting with your body without pressure to perform, push through, or get it “right".”
There’s no perfect pose here. No flexibility requirement. No gold star for pushing yourself harder.
What makes TCTSY different?
It’s not traditional yoga with “trauma-sensitive” added to the name.
TCTSY uses movement and yoga forms, but the goal isn’t achieving a pose, improving flexibility, or getting the movement “right.” The focus is on your experience of your own body.
NOTICE
Notice sensations in your body without needing to change, explain, or judge what you find.
CHOOSE
Decide whether, how, and how much you move. Not moving is always an option too.
EXPERIENCE
Focus less on what movement looks like and more on what you notice while experiencing it.
PRACTICE
There’s nothing to master. Practice noticing what you want and making choices for yourself.
Your body. Your choices. Your practice.
What to Expect
One hour a week. Eight weeks. From wherever you are.
Each 60-minute session includes a little learning, and plenty of experiencing.
We’ll start with about 15 minutes of practical psychoeducation around the nervous system, trauma, body awareness, and why our bodies respond the way they do.
LEARN
We’ll spend about 45 minutes in a guided TCTSY practice, exploring movement, noticing what you experience, and practicing choice along the way.
MOVE
Join from anywhere.
Bring a friend from anywhere, too.
Your office on your lunch break, your living room, or wherever you have a little room to move. Camera on or camera off. That choice is yours too.
MAKE IT YOURS
No commute. No special yoga setup. No expectation that your practice looks like anyone else’s.
Is Healing Through Movement for me?
You don’t need a trauma diagnosis, yoga experience, or a certain level of fitness to participate.
This series may be a good fit if you’re interested in:
feeling more connected to your body
noticing your needs and internal cues more easily
practicing choice without immediately second-guessing yourself
exploring movement without pressure, comparison, or performance
understanding your nervous system a little better
adding a body-based practice alongside the work you’re already doing
You don’t have to be “good at yoga.” You just have to be curious about what you might notice.
I’m a licensed therapist, Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F), and founder of Laura Snyder Therapy and HER.
My work focuses on trauma, nervous system regulation, attachment, and helping people reconnect with themselves in ways that are practical and actually usable in real life.
I love TCTSY because sometimes understanding why we respond the way we do only gets us so far. TCTSY gives us an opportunity to notice what’s happening on the inside, experience choice, and practice responding to our own bodies differently.
And no, I’m not interested in whether or not you can touch your toes.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. Camera on or camera off is entirely your choice. You won’t be asked to prove that you’re participating or demonstrate movements for me.

That’s okay. TCTSY is about exploring options and making choices based on your own body. You can participate from a chair, standing, on the floor, or choose not to do a particular movement at all.
-
Life happens. Replays are included, so if you miss a live session, you can catch up on your own time before the next session and join us again the following week.
-
Yes. Sessions will be recorded so registered participants can access replays. Recordings will focus on the facilitated practice rather than group participation whenever possible. You’re always welcome to keep your camera off.
